Zawawi Powertech Engineering LLC (ZPTE) executed this single-block combined-cycle facility on a full EPC-turnkey basis, covering everything from detailed engineering through performance testing and hand-over including the Design and construction of Fuel Gas pipeline.
ZPTE has delivered a fast-track, fuel-flexible combined-cycle block that couples the proven GE Frame 6FA with a 35 MW steam turbine and HRSG. An air-cooled condenser eliminates cooling-water draw-off, making the plant well-suited for Oman’s arid interior. The facility is fully integrated with PDO’s 132 kV grid via a dedicated GIS yard and double-circuit overhead lines, and all critical auxiliary systems—fuel-gas conditioning, closed-loop cooling, water treatment, SCADA and asset-health monitoring are provided turnkey by ZPTE.

- Complete civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and I&C detail engineering,
- Factory interface studies and grid-code compliance analysis
Procurement
- Procurement of 1 No of GE Frane 6FA Gas Turbine +
- Procurement of 1 No of Steam Turbine & Air-Cooled Condenser
- Procurement of I No. of HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator)
- Procurement of Balance-of-Plant (BoP) packages including Gas Treatment Plant, Closed Cooling Water System, DM Water Package
Construction
- Engine foundations, and utility buildings
- Installation, alignment and grouting of all Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, HRSG and BOP
- E&I installation: cable trays, cabling, terminations, loop checks
Commissioning
- Cold and hot commissioning of each engine, BoP systems
- Grid synchronization, load-rejection, reliability run, and emissions testing and PG testing
- Handover of O&M manuals, as-built documentation and operator training

- High reliability design with N+1 redundancy across gas treatment, UPS and critical auxiliaries to meet PDO uptime targets.
